I build websites that are
Turn heads online
Does your website need a bit of love? Are you starting a business and need a great looking web site?
As a kid who grew up in the 90's I definitely have a soft spot in my heart for sites like this; however, it is difficult for you or your business to make a positive impression in our increasingly "digital world" without a completely functional, attractive, contemporary, and intuitive website.
Below are examples of a few of my recent projects. Feel free to click the links or pictures to view the full site.
- custom sites designed from scratch
- existing website redesign
- information architecture
- eCommerce stores
- maintenance / repair
- social media profile design / stragegy
- responsive web design (mobile/tablet optimization)
- content creation
- search engine optimization
- wordpress & squarespace platform support / education

I still get all giddy every time a big player in the music industry contacts me to design their site. Keith came to me with just an idea to redesign his existing site. All the necessary pieces were there, but he wasn't happy with the overall look and feel of his website.
After getting to know him a bit, listening to his music, and understanding his goals, we came up with a game plan to give his site a much needed makeover. While I went with a familiar layout functionally, I branched out of my comfort zone and played around with some different color palettes. The one I landed on is based on the orange site title (which I kept from his old site as a simple nod to the past). Using a color wheel, I found an interesting texture that complimented the orange highlight color.
It is always such a pleasure for me to design a site for gifted musicians like Keith, as I never run out of great music to fuel the many hours behind the design!
While I was a kid growing up in Phoenix and playing in bands that gigged and recorded all over the city, it made me realize how lucky I was to have parents who allowed me to invade our guest bedroom and turn it into a space to practice and create music. Most kids don't have this luxury, so they tend to just quit or spend a fortune on practice space.
When Randy at Premier Studios approached me to design a site for his brand new studio in downtown Phoenix, he showed me his huge 2200 sq. ft. space with 5 fully back-lined practice rooms... which they are renting for a mere $15/hour! I thought "Finally, there is an affordable place that musicians can rent for rehearsals, concerts, and laying down some tracks".
As my first recording studio site, I wanted to create an exceptional design, as I would love to make more sites for more studios. In his package, I included custom icons that represent the various perks of this studio space, and I believe the minimal design stays out of the way and lets the pictures do the talking.
Evan Carlyle Rees
Pianist, Keyboardist, Composer
San Francisco, CA
Evan and I studied jazz music together at Arizona State University. He is an amazing pianist, so naturally I convinced him to play in virtually every band I was playing with. This guy is the real deal... Jazz, reggae, funk, soul, classical, disco, rock, you name it, he's got some amazing chops! So amazing, that the legendary Motown/R&B group The Miracles (former home of the one and only Smokey Robinson) snatched Evan as their touring keyboardist.
He recently graduated from ASU and moved with his lovely girlfriend up to the Bay Area to launch his (already wildly successful) music career. Naturally, he needed a professional website to house his growing list of original compositions & performance videos, inform his audience of upcoming gigs, and serve as an outlet for his extraordinary talent through his own blog.
It was such a pleasure working with Evan, and I'm so excited to see and hear this guy killing it with more of the finest performers today's music industry has to offer. Congrats on the new site, Evan!
Radio Host, Columnist, TV & Film Writer/Producer, Event Emcee
Los Angeles, CA
If you live in LA and listen to the radio, chances are you have heard Doug's voice discussing current events on his morning talk show "McIntyre in the Morning" on KABC. If you read the paper, chances are you have read an article he's written for the LA Daily news. And if you have ever watched "Full House", chances are you witnessed his screen writing in action.
So it goes to say, I didn't hesitate for one second when he approached me to redesign his personal website.
The challenge Doug had was trying to organize all of his content (which comes from so many different sources of his many talents) into a logical layout, without overwhelming the user. We decided to go with using his four "job titles" as the pillars of the site. Though his industry wasn't as familiar to me, I quickly got up to speed by immersing myself in the decades of content he has to his name in his many articles, radio broadcasts, celebrity interviews, hosted events, and even a couple documentaries he created himself.

As an indisputable music legend, Wayne Bergeron has made a name for himself as one of the greatest trumpet players to ever live. So when he hired me to redesign his existing website, I nearly passed out.
I didn't know where to start with his discography pushing over 400 albums with the likes of Ray Charles, Michael Bublé, Earth Wind & Fire, Arturo Sandoval, and over 350 TV & motion picture soundtracks (it's safe to assume almost every movie soundtrack you hear a trumpet in is probably Wayne...)
I finally composed myself and laid out his site as logically as I could to display his extensive background, and expose users to his many items for sale from self-titled recordings to his own custom mouthpiece line.
Needless to say, this project was a huge learning experience for me and I am forever grateful to him for the opportunity.

Before I had the chance to "collect my cool" after working with Wayne, I got a call from one of his best friends, and one of the greatest jazz trombonists of all time, Andy Martin. I grew up listening to him play with Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, so naturally I jumped at this opportunity with much excitement.
Andy needed a hub where he could update his upcoming concerts, add to his already jaw-dropping discography/film credit list, and sell his featured albums, all while providing his many worldwide fans with a functional website to keep up with his busy schedule and learn more about his impressive résumé.
This project was an absolute pleasure for me, and I now feel lucky to call him my friend after working with him.
I met Mikey B at the ripe age of 10 or 11 in fifth grade. It didn't take me long to realize that he really is a "one of a kind" type of dude. We stuck together as close friends ever since, and anyone who knows him would agree that creativity and art runs through every bearded breath he takes.
After obtaining his bachelor's degree from the University of Hawaii, I had the pleasure of watching his career as a professional glassblower start to take shape.
With his newfound passion came the need for a professional website to debut his expanding portfolio (dropping jaw after jaw with his raw talent), and I was more than happy to be the guy to build it for him.
The biggest obstacle for me was trying to branch out of my comfort zone and represent his style in the design of his site. Similar to his art, the site is a constantly evolving canvas and has provided me with an outlet to expand my own art form of web design.
David Hales is a DJ on the rise in the Valley of the Sun, and a fellow Blue Devil / RCC drummer. We met through the percussion scene, and quickly bonded after we both started involuntarily bobbing our heads when a nasty funk tune came on the radio.
David is probably one of the most determined, hardest working guys I know. Mix that with a superb taste in music, a couple hard drives filled with 10's of 1000's of the greatest tunes ever (his hip-hop selection is mind blowing), and his wizard-like vinyl spinning skills and you've got yourself one hell of a World Class DJ!
While he is very tech savvy, he came to me looking for a clean, user-friendly layout to showcase his mixes, services, upcoming gigs and an easy way for his clients to book him. It was my first time building a DJ website, but I would do it all over again just to listen to his epic Soundcloud playlists!
Soccer Clothing Brand
Ambitious Stryk (AS) is a new clothing brand started by some financial gurus moonlighting as entrepreneurs and soccer enthusiasts. At the time they approached me to build their site, I hadn't yet created a full-blown eCommerce site. I saw it as a potential learning opportunity which could broaden my skills as a web designer, which is exactly what it was!
The guys at AS wanted an attractive, clean, and user-friendly store that would be easy to manage on their end after the site was designed. So I hooked them up with a Squarespace commerce account, which boasts a Content Management System (CMS) that is second-to-none. They have the ability to manage their inventory, create coupons, change prices, adjust taxes, manage shipments, and so much more.
Whether or not you are a soccer enthusiast, they have a ton of really cool designs available in all sizes for men and women. I used some of their shirt designs in custom banners I created in Photoshop, as well as a friendly header font that I think reflects a sporty, fun, and (as they endorse with their brand) 'Bitious attitude.
Andrew Verduzco and I met while marching together with the Blue Devils and RCC Indoor drumline. I knew he had a great eye after first following him on Instagram, but he really has progressed into an amazing professional photographer.
While working together at Universal Studios in Osaka, Japan, I had the pleasure of joining him on many adventures that involved us bouncing around a foreign country, seeking amazing scenery and priceless moments to capture through his lens.
One thing led to another, and he shared with me his dream of being a professional photographer. As a "dream instigator", I was extremely excited to help him by creating his website to showcase his portfolio and provide him with a personal blog as an outlet to document his adventurous life and creative thought process.
I chose to stick with a very minimal design layout so it would stay out of the way and highlight the most important aspect of the site: his shots.
My greatest passion in life is drumming. It has provided me with an outlet to express myself, brought me many opportunities to explore the world, and share the same joy it brings me with students of all ages through music education.
One very important (if not identifying) factor in my drumming style comes from my background in rudimental/marching percussion. You can read all about my drumming background here, which will get you up to speed on how I got connected with the Arizona drumming community.
Cutler Boughn, director of Breakthrough and a colleague of mine, approached me to redesign their existing site with hopes of having a password protected "Members Only" page where he can upload new music for the members to download, post announcements for the group, and even collect online payments. In addition, they wanted a streamlined, contemporary look to their site. It was a lot of fun doing this project and really brought my career full-circle by connecting my two passions.
